Approval process
This table identifies the approval process for sending a member on a third-country deployment.

Conditions of service
A member deploying with host country forces is eligible for Australian conditions of service at the time of deployment. This table identifies how the conditions of service are determined.

Records of involvement
Accurate records of the members' involvement must be maintained by the relevant Head of Australian Defence Staff/Defence Attaché. They are to provide details to:

Headquarters Joint Operations Command; and

Deputy Commander Joint Operations; and
-
Defence Force Pay Accounting Centre.
Additional leave entitlements
Any additional leave entitlements applying to an exchange member on a third-country deployment will, where possible, be equal to those provided by the host country.
Accompanied member
If the member maintains a residence in the host country, then the conditions of service for the accompanied member stay the same.

Unaccompanied member

Conditions of service and benefits received for an unaccompanied member may cease when deployed outside of the host country.

Defence administrative staff at the appropriate Embassy or High Commission determine whether allowances and accommodation are to be maintained.
