Medical services are not limited to those provided by General Practitioners directly, and include other services provided within their general practice setting such as a general practice nurse changing a wound dressing or removing stitches.
8.9.6A Reimbursement benefit
If this amount is unused at the end of a financial year it does not carry over to future financial years.
8.9.7 Reimbursable items – Specialists, allied health services and related products
An allied health service includes any of the following.

An eligible audiologist under the Health Insurance (Allied Health Services) Determination 2014.

A chiropractor or osteopath registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

A dentist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, including the cost of items listed by the Australian Dental Association in the Australian Schedule of Dental Services and Glossary.

An allied health professional for Dietary or speech therapy under the Health Insurance (Allied Health Services) Determination 2014.

An occupational therapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

An optometrist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency, including the cost of all prescription eyewear, lenses, frames, contact lenses and repairs.

A physiotherapist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

A podiatrist or chiropodist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.

A psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency.
