Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Scheme
-
The Military Rehabilitation and Compensation Scheme (MRCS) provides comprehensive rehabilitation, treatment and compensation for members who suffer illness, injury or death as a result of ADF service on or after 1 July 2004.
-
The MRCS replaces cover provided by the former scheme for these cases. The former scheme is based on Veteran's Entitlements Act 1986, the Safety, Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 1988, and Chapter 11 Part 2, Additional military compensation.
-
However, cases resulting from ADF service before 1 July 2004 are subject to the former scheme.
-
For detailed guidance on compensation arrangements including the MRCS, see the Department of Veterans' Affairs website.
