3.2.5 Time for payment of salary for a member on continuous full-time service
In the total workforce system, the following arrangements apply.
A member of the Permanent Forces may be described as a member in Service category 6 or 7.
A member on continuous full-time service may be described as a member in Service category 6 or 7. A member who is in Service category 3, 4 or 5 who is also on Service option C is also on continuous full-time service.
A member of the Reserves may be described as a member in Service category 2, 3, 4 or 5.
3.2.6 Method of payment of salary for a member on continuous full-time service
In the total workforce system, continuous full-time service may be described as a member in Service category 6 or 7.

Example for Item 2: A member of the Reserves travels from Canberra to Melbourne for a training course. While travelling to Melbourne they are taken to be on duty. While on the course they are on duty. While travelling home they are on duty.
3.2.14 Reserve member attending for duty in special circumstances
A member who is on paid leave from another employer is eligible for payment under this section.
Example: A member returns from an exercise and is granted a two day period of short absence for rest and recovery. During this period the member is taken to be on duty and is paid salary for the period.
DFRT Determination No. 2 of 2017, Salaries, section A.1.5 and subsection B.3.4.4, applies to calculating the salary entitlement.
