Example – Field Qualifying Period
Private Trudeau is operating the lead vehicle in a 25 vehicle convoy and enters the Field at 1130h on Friday morning. Corporal Truss is in the rear vehicle of the convoy and enters the Field at 1230 h. They both stay and work in the field environment until Sunday where they leave the field at 1130 h on separate tasks.
Under Military Factor: Both Private Trudeau and Corporal Truss would receive 2 days of field allowance (full calendar Saturday plus partial last day Sunday).
Example – Requalifying Period
Corporal Singh and Corporal Wilson have been in the field for the last 5 days. They are being sent via road transport to their home unit to escort injured personnel home and to bring in replacements. Corporal Singh completed her turnaround relatively quickly and returned to the field after 47 hours. Corporal Wilson on the other hand was delayed by traffic and returned to the field after 49 hours.
Under Military Factor: There is no qualifying period. Both members will receive Field Allowance for the day they depart field and require to return to field for just one calendar to resume Field Allowance.
