Guidance

An approved service provider means Toll Transitions Pty Ltd, its subcontractors, or other removalists who provide removal services under a contract with the Commonwealth.

Example for Accommodation for which rent allowance is payable: A member may be eligible to receive rent allowance for a property, however due to their contribution being greater than the rent payable for the property, the amount of rent allowance payable is zero.

Examples for Breakdown of relationship: A relationship is seen to have broken down in any of these situations.

  1. Either party has begun legal proceedings to end the relationship.
  2. The parties no longer maintain a common household.
  3. The member has been re-categorised as a member who has no resident family.
  4. One or both parties declare that the relationship has ended.

Examples of Essential household items:

  1. bedding.
  2. children's requirements (excluding toys).
  3. cooking utensils.
  4. cutlery and crockery.
  5. refrigerators.
  6. washing machines.

Examples for Private vehicle: Cars, trucks, motor cycles (and sidecar), motor scooters.

Non-Examples for Private vehicle: Recreational or hobby vehicles that cannot be registered.

Examples for Towable item: 

  1. An animal trailer.
  2. A boat trailer.
  3. A recreation vehicle and its trailer.
