15.5.23 Vaccinations and anti-malaria drugs
Additional vaccinations for travel outside the posting location are at the person’s own expense.
15.5.24 Mental health services
Mental health support services provided by a psychiatrist (being a medical specialist) may be approved as a specialised medical service under section 15.5.12.
Benefits received for mental health support services may have fringe benefit tax implications for the ADF member in circumstances where the ADF member does not attend the appointment with their dependant.
Employee Assistance Program services for APS employees that is available in Australia remains available without a referral or Mental Health Treatment Plan.
15.5.25 Ambulance and other medical transport costs
Ambulance transport or other necessary medical transport will be reimbursed if the transport is required in the posting country. The person should ensure that when travelling recreationally that they have appropriate travel insurance. Ambulance or other medical transport when on official duty is covered by the Travel Outside of Country Policy.
