If your child turns 18 before they finish secondary school, you’ll keep getting education assistance until they finish school.
Education assistance in your overseas posting location
Example
Your posting location has 14 weeks of school holidays a year.
You can claim the costs of a holiday program for 2 weeks (14–12).
Education assistance in Australia
If your child remains in Australia with their other parent or in the family home, you may not be eligible to get education assistance for that child.
If your child wasn't living with you before your long-term posting overseas, there may be a limit on the accommodation costs you can claim.
