Read about your benefits if you’re:
- travelling on a deployment in Australia
- participating in a Defence co-operation project or program or officially approved activities, such as adventure training, sports or work experience.
Flights and accommodation
Your flight is cancelled just before take-off at 2230 h when you’re already at the airport.
Your flight is rebooked for 0430 h the next day.
It would be reasonable for you to stay at the on-site hotel at the airport overnight even though there may be cheaper accommodation in the same city.
Meals and incidentals
You won’t get meal allowance for any meals you’re provided as part of your overseas flight.

If you go on recreation leave or long service leave during your peacetime deployment, you’ll need to pay for your own meals and incidentals during your leave.
