Either of: 1. The person who was living with you in a marital or couple relationship at the time of your death, on a permanent and bona fide domestic basis, as outlined in the Defence Force Retirement and Death Benefits Act 1973. You may still be categorised as living with someone even if there is a period of temporary absence, or absence because of special circumstances, as outlined in the Act. 2. A person you were still legally married to, but no longer in a relationship with, at the time of your death, who is wholly or substantially dependent on you.
