Living-in accommodation If you’re visiting a Defence location for training, you may be required to stay in LIA while you’re there. Service residences You need to tell Defence Housing Australia if your living situation changes. Member Choice Accommodation You’ll need to pay a Service residence contribution to Defence and won’t get rent allowance while you live in MCA. Private rentals You may not be able to get rent allowance if you rejected a Defence Housing Australia (DHA) offer of a suitable Service residence or chose to move out of one at the same location.
